"Bader Field; How My Family Survived Suicide" by Carl David has many levels of purpose.
"Bader Field; How My Family Survived Suicide" my latest book (Nightengale Press) has been reaching into the souls of its readers. It began as homage to my father, my hero who died suddenly and unexpectedly at the young age of 58. That just 8 years after the loss of one of my older brothers to suicide.

My story is an intimate voyage into our close knit 1960's family, highlighting the ideal father son relationship as an example for those who never had one so they break that chain of negativity and take a positive lead whey they become fathers.

The other significant purpose which develops in the book is the vision of horror that suicide blankets on the surviving family members. It is my hope that anyone on that edge of desperation will realize that they are loved, that there is help for them and that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Suicide takes the lives of more than a million people a year, leaving more than 5 million to mourn them. This is an epidemic that must be halted and the only way to do that is to arm kids with knowledge and understanding of this ugly issue. It cannot any longer be ignored or denied because of the old stigma of shame that keeps it growing. It knows no boundaries; age, gender, race, nationality. It cares not who it affects, it just takes it's aim and fires at whomever will fall prey to its negative influence.

Having lived and survived this nightmarish experience I am armed with knowledge that must be given out and told everywhere. I have done many television, radio and magazine interviews and will continue tirelessly on my quest to publicize my battle.

My goal for this book is to save lives; even one. I my never know if I have succeeded but I will fight every day to spread the word, open eyes, and give my message of hope toward spirit preservation. Life is a gift; we get but one.
